Under the electorial rules of the USA he was deemed to have received the largest share of the vote.
Or to put it another way, not enough people voted for the other guy.
Democracies are like that - here in the UK we're stuck with that idiot Tony Blair and everyone is going round denying they voted for him and the bunch of losers who call themselves the Labour Party but SOMEONE must've been fool enough to vote for them.
Same goes for your esteemed leader.
If you don't vote at all you have no right to complain. If you vote then think carefully about who you vote for and if your guy doesn't get in then at least you stood up to be counted.

He is president because his father was president and prior to that, his father was the head of the CIA, not to mention all sorts of underhand dealings with the wealthy oil barons here and abroad. He is president because he is a liar and a cheat. He is president because his brother (Jeb) assisted in dismantling the democratic voting process in Florida.
He is president only in title. He is too stupid to be president on his own. Ronald Reagan (RIP) had more intelligence with his Alzheimer's than Bush ever head. There are several people behind the scenes pulling his strings like a puppet. The only problem is, Bush can't read a teleprompter because the words are not his and are too big for him to sound out.

Because he received a majority of votes. Yes, it was not an overwhelming number, but even one vote would have done it.
Three newspapers sent reps down to Florida, to conduct an independent investigation, and to count every countable vote. Took several months. Pres. Bush still came out the winner.
Unfortunately some people are still fighting the 2000 election.
You know, it only takes the difference of one card to get a royal flush.

ummmm, because he ran last election....Mr. Gore actually won...but George used his bro in Florida...good ole' Jed, to re-tally the electoral vote in FL, and suddenly it pushed Bush into the lead, winning him the presidency by full and total complete fraud...EVERYONE KNOWS who really won the election....it was mocked repeatedly on late night TV by all the comedians for quite awhile...it was so in our face that truly, it's just like when his DADDY was president...it's all in 'who you know'...
