I liked #3. The Prisoner of Azkaban. Book 4 is my favorite book and the plot outshines the others, but I liked what Alfonso Cuaron did with it and I hope he directs movie #6 (he's in the running). It was #3 that convinced me I HAD to read the books. I went straight from the theater to Barnes and Noble b/c I needed to know what happened next.
POA was my favorite because the cinematography was a perfect blend of darkness and whimsical fantasy that I like to picture in the books. Number 4 was too rushed (hey, there was a lot to squeeze in), and it lacked some of the whimsy. I would have loved if the director of movie 3 had filmed movie #4. The first 2, on the other hand, were too childish. The transitions in movie 3 are amazing as well, with the whomping willow and the changing of the seasons... Plus, the screenplay for #3 was easy enough to follow. Having not read the books, I had difficulty following movie #2 and I can't imagine picking up the fine details of movie #4 wiithout having read it.
I love all the professors. I'm particularly fond of Lupin and McGonnagal, but you have to love Alan Rickman's Snape! He's so perfectly evil and rigid. I think I had his brother in high school. I'm not fond of Michael Gambon's Dumbledore. Gambon hasn't read the books and doesn't seem to have a good grasp of the "firm but gentle" side of Dumbledore. It's ashame Richard Harris passed away. But he played Dumbledore a little too elderly...I can't envision him riding on a broomstick and swigging down some Draught of Living Death.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is my favorite of the four movies because it has great scenes like the introduction of Lucius Malfoy at Flourish and Blotts, the Dueling Club, the polyjuice potion, the diary, and Tom Riddle within the Chamber itself. Plus, the casting was superb: Richard Harris was exactly as I imagined Dumbledore when I was reading the books, Maggie Smith is great as the stern but fair Professor McGonagall, Kenneth Branagh was hilarious as the ever inept braggart Professor Lockhart, Alan Rickman is delightfully vicious as Professor Snape, and Jason Isaacs was completely captivating as the powerful and ruthless Lucius Malfoy.
Professor Snape is my favorite teacher to watch - Alan Rickman was perfect for the part. I think Professor Lupin was the best teacher though because he treated the students fairly and taught them practical information in an interesting and amusing way (the kind of teacher I'd like to have).

For now, i LUUUUURVE the Fourth Movie (Goblet of Fire), as it's the best one yet!
But i've gotta say that i am looking forward for the fifth movie (Order of the Phoenix), coz for me, it's the best book out of the current six... Harry gets to grow up a lot here (in OotP), and he' no more the perfect little boy you've once known in the earlier books; he's now a young man facing the pangs of adolescence...
As for my fave teacher, my answer's gotta be Professor McGonagall... simply because she reminds me of my fave teacher in high school...

I also liked the latest one the best but I do like all of them. My favorite teachers would have to be Professor McGonagall and the original Professor Dumbledore from the first 2 movies.

I'd have to say the 3rd one Prisoner of Azkaban. Hagrid is my favorite because he's so gentle for someone his size and loves animals. I liked the spookiness with Serious Black creeping around disguised as a big black dog and the teacher that turned into a werewolf. Those creepy shadows were pretty cool too.
