Anyone know of a book that discusses how people are using the internet to substitute face to face social life?

I wish I could remember the name of it, but there was a sci-fi book back in the sixties where society NEVER left their homes, they only communicate through a wireless system. Sound familiar. Internet addiction is the fastest growing one on the planet.
