There is no need to stay over night after removal of tonsils. however if there is bleeding a local anesthasia ( in the form of throat Gurgle) is to be used.
and ice creams to be consumed !!!!!!!!!

Good Luck

Young children are usually sent home the same day however, the older you are the more risks/pain you will have thus controlling your pain in the hospital is a better route for the doctors to take. Seeing that you are a 24 year old, it is unlikely but possible. Another aspect you will have to consider is why this late in time you are having your tonsils removed. That weighs a lot on the decision to keep you or not. Good Luck to you!

No, they will have you in and out with in about 4 to 5 hours. It will be an outpatient Visit. Buy some Cherbert a day or to before the surgery it helps with the soreness and swelling. Take a few days off work you should be fine.

Tonsillectomies are normally be done as a day case ( you will turn up in the morning and go home in the afternoon once recovered. But it depends were you have it done and their guidelines, but you may have to stay in if there is excessive pain or bleeding or you react to the general anesthetic

Not unless there are complications. I had mine out when I was five. It was supposed to be a day surgery, but they kept me overnight cause the anesthesia made me sicker than a dog.
