I wouldn't say I "couldn't" control myself because I believe we always have the option barring any physical or actual mental condition, however, I did have a time in my life where I WOULDN'T control myself and I regret it. There was this really sweet girl in high school, Ann Block, who was a year behind me and who I used to go to Sunday School with in Jr High. I'd heard rumors that she was messing around with my boyfriend and then I saw them hanging out at the park together. Even if it was true, HE'S the one I should have been angry with, not her. I tormented her continuously and was so so so awful to her. I've regretted it my entire life thinking about how unhappy I must have made her life. I was very malicious and not only tormented her, but worked to ensure that all of her friends ditched her as well. I used my status as a senior and some sway with my popularity to make her life a living hell. I've never stopped feeling bad about that and if I ever run into her I'll likely throw myself at her feet and beg forgiveness. I cry every time I even think about it.
