Believe it or not i got the chicken pox at age 34. I started to break out but felt only slightly feverish but it didnt feel too weird so stupidly i went to work, even went to a meeting. Then after a 3 hour nap i broke out all over my body and even on my head ... i didnt believe it was chicken pox because it was something i thought only kids get. I was wrong. Thank the gods there was some anti-viral pills for it..i went through it without that much itching and suffering. Unfortunately i exposed a whole bunch of people to this but thank god they didnt get sick.

chicken pox? Once, at the age of six.
Worse, Shingles (from the pox virus, left dormant in a particular nerve). . . at least four times in the last decade. I take prednisone for lupus--and this allows the shingles to flare on occasion.
I barely remember the chicken pox. I have no memory of each episode of the shingles--only because they have lasted well over 6 weeks each time and have lead to intermittent kidney failure, coma and dialysis.
I do vaguely recollect the odor of rotting flesh and the tremendous pain.

I caught them from my brother when I was 16. I didn't break out like normal people, most of them were internal. I was so sick, the doc put me on Valium for a month, just to make me more comfortable. At that time, I was labeled by him, as his worst case of chicken-pox.

I had chicken pox when I was 8 or 9 and I haven't really had anything serious since then. I've only have tonselitis, I think that's how it's spelled, and I had strep throat a lot so I have to have my tosels taken out.

Only chicken pox. *knock wood* It is common for newborns to have jaundice -- I think that I had it when I was born. But, as I get older, I certainly get more paranoid about it!
Best of health to you!

I had chicken pox when I was about 2. I haven't had any other major illnesses. Right now I have gallstones, but I'm fixing that, and not with surgery.
