Terro and killer works great. It is a thick liquid that you put on small pieces of cardboard and place between the cabinets and stove or refrigerator. You don't need much... just a tiny drop. It is poisonous and sweet smelling so you want to put it far enough back where a child or pet could not reach it. But it DOES work.
I don't know if Walmart type stores would have it but they should carry it at a hardware store.
Bombs are such a pain because you have to cover everything and it's not guaranteed that it will get to all the places an ant can get to. Also you have to extinguish pilot lights etc. Terro attracts the ants to it and when they partake they carry it back to the hive and *poof*. they gone.

Hope this helps and have a great day!!!

Yes, I do hate them, and won't go to them. I haven't been to Lowe's in the last 4 months, but the last time I was there, I don't think they had any. I'm not fond of Home Depot, either, but not because of their checkouts. I would simply go to a different one. The grocery store I go to has a few self service lanes, too, but I figure that's alright for the people that like them.

The BEST thing on the market is a product called Amdro Ant Block. Sprinkle it about a foot away from and around the ant hole. Watch those bugs carry it back home and very soon (usually next day) they are GONE!! Only thing we have found that "really" works. We get it at Wal-Mart. Good luck!

I had ants and tried to kill those suckers with ant bombs, insecticide and other posinous things to no avail. I then went to the grocery store and bought red chile powder and sprinkled it on the colonies outside and around where they were getting into my house and within two days they vacated my premises.

There is a very toxic ant granual that you can buy to kill them but its very toxic to people and pets alike. I'll try to remember the name of it, I think you can ask at your local nursery for the name of it and if they carry it. It's illegal in some states to sell.

You can get the ants stakes in a package of up to 12, you put them around your home or apartment, spaced but you also have to stir the center hole with warm water to activate them they work up to 6 months I use them regularly and they really do work, they are not harmful to pets.
