the best thing is to teach your kids about respecting others and themselves! it's not about being p.c., it's about respect. knowing what might offend someone, or why some terms aren't acceptible. and the fact that there's nothing wrong trying to NOT hurt someone!

Next question: Why would parents teach their children to be politically correct? Don't get me wrong -- they should teach their children to be polite and not to be racist -- but PC behavior takes it to extremes.
I find the overuse of inoffensive behavior to be very offensive. How should a PC person react to me?

parents should lead by example. don't slander people in the sight of your children. try not to let them see you treat people unfairly or say things that are biased against gender, age, weight, religion, sexual orinentation, race, or other differences. also something i taught my daughter early on... before you speak of others think about how you would feel if someone said it to you. if you would not feel good, then you shouldn't say it to anyone else.
also it is a good idea to watch tv, movies, music, radio with your children. they will see plenty of things parents don't approve of. but eventually they will see it anyway. i always use this as an opportunity to point out things to my daughter that i feel strongly about. consuming the media as a family allows a platform for communication and educating your children about your values.
