I am looking for an episode that might be appropriate to show as a writing prompt for a creative writing class. It would be great if there was one about odd happenings at a high school.

I found one involving a school...but I think it might be disturbing to your students. It's about a teacher who sees a light emanating from one of her student's faces, and she later finds out that that light is a signal that the person's going to die. She starts seeing the lights all over kids in the school.

Since it's for a writing class, how about instead the episode called "Time Enough At Last" from episode 8 of the 1959 season? In that episode a bookworm yearns for more time to read and then a nuclear holocaust leaves him alone in the world with plenty of time to read....then he shatters his glasses. Poor guy. I cringe just thinking about the episode.

Anyway, I thought this might make for an interesting writing assignment because it explores a number of social issues, including anti-intellectualism, "the grass is greener" syndrome, the dangers of reliance upon technology, and the difference between aloneness and loneliness. Just a suggestion.
