This is truly bizarre. I was cleaning out my closet and I found what appears to be the original "Declaration of Independence" stuffed inside an old Penthouse magazine, complete with white stains. Now what? Should I call the Smithstonian or the White House?

The Declaration of Independence has always been worthy of a "Centerfold" status.

Calling the white house would come in just behind calling the local zoo and asking for the Chimpanzee cage and for the impeachment hearings, that won't happen till after the fall elections.

I suggest you call the Congress of the United States. They'll want to initiate impeachment hearings posthumously on Thomas Jefferson.

i would not call anyone because the orginial document is under lock and key, this one you found probably is a old copy from someone that had a copy beack in that area, it still might be worth something, check out with butterfield's and they can tell you the 411

there was another individual who found one behind a bad painting inside of a sort of nice looking frame that attracted the buyer!!!it cost him $3.37 at a garage sale in bucks county ,pennsylvania!!!it is of course somewhat pricelees to collectors...but it was printed matter ...not hand-writng in it's earliest editions!!!but if it is hand-written it maybe a draft or manuscript ...in which case get it into an insured safe deposit box with a reputable bank with climate control!!!!

If you call some place like that, they will expect you to "donate" it to them.
