Yes, they are.

I hate how illegal people are called "aliens". It is such a disgusting, racist term.

People automatically think "mexican people" when they hear illegal aliens. People are so racist today. I'm sure that if people weren't so ignorant and knew that alot of white people are illegal, they'd change their minds.

My mother came into this country illegally before I was born.
She had to fly from europe (where she's from), to cuba, to mexico. She came into this country illegally and was put into jail with my older sister. My sister was a baby at the time and spent the night in jail. My father and grandmother, however, helped her because they were legal. She is now a legal, american citizen.

I think it is stupid how people criticize "illegal" people.
Do you have ANY idea how hard it is to become legal?
The US is selfish, and retarded. My european grandparents can't even come here to the US to visit because they can't get a visiting Visa. The US thinks that if they give them a visiting Visa, They won't want to go back to their country. and guess what? I've NEVER met my grandparents...

How do you expect people to be "legal" when it is so damn hard to become legal? It is close to impossible!

Open your minds and hearts, everyone. Stop being so selfish, racist, close minded, and ignorant.

No we shouldn't put a closed sign on the Statue of Liberty. The people of France gave the Statue to the people of the United States over one hundred years ago in recognition of the friendship established during the American Revolution. It wasn't made as a welcome sign for illegal immigrants. There is a process to come in to this country. Just like getting your drivers license, you get in trouble if you get caught driving before you get it. Yes it is more strict than before, but times change to meet to demand of the citizens. If people want to go back to a time when the borders were legally wide open just remind them the other things that were in effect back in those days. Segregation and no women's rights, should we go back to those days? I don't think so, because those things changed for a reason too.

Oh, whaaa. Life is hard. I hate it how SOME people rationalize their arguement about racism by using stereotypes. We turned our back on immigrants, those bastards turned their back on their own country by leaving it and taking the easy road by coming in this country illegally. So the next time I hear how hard something is like getting citizenship so we took the easy way, I want to hear a story about how hard it was to improve your country of orgin but you made it better so people wouldn't want to leave. Man, the US has enough problems and we are far from perfect, and people just take their time to down the people who are trying to make it better. Why not take that time to turn our friendly neighbor to the south in to a desert oasis wanted by all. All those people who march for the rights of illegall aliens could have made a huge dent down there, but no lets pick on this country. I really hope someone does not report this as being offensive, because I put in my share of the tax dollars that deals with this situation. I am glad we are spending our resources on this whole border crisis, will it work? Only time will tell, then maybe when this country doesn't seem fit anymore we can pass the buck to Canada.

Maybe we should move it to southern Texas along with The building to process the immigrants coming in to America from the south. I don't think America has closed its doors to people coming into this country we just want them to do it legally so they can contribute taxes to help pay for things. Instead there is a major drain on insurance and public services of which an illegal immigrant has not contributed to at all. One of the biggest problems is the fact they do not want to become Amer cans they wish to keep there own beliefs and ideologies to the point we as Americans have to change signs to be in Spanish and English when in fact if you want to be an American at least learn the language and leave your own music at home.

No, because the bulk are coming in over the Mexican border. They don't even see the Statue of Liberty.

This is America, land of the free. Anyone who wants to come here and be American can do so. Legally. Just that if you do, please learn the language. Contribute to your new country, not drain it. Exercise your freedom to believe however you choose, but don't force it on me.

If you don't like what America stands for, you have one more freedom you can exercise, THE FREEDOM TO LEAVE.

Yes, we have enough people, take the statue down. It's time to think about ourselves and our kids. Lets keep the USA great and to ourselves.

How about we put a closed sign on our border to slow down all the ILLEGALS who flaunt our laws just to get free heathcare & food stamps. They're welcome to immigrate here... legally.
