need help on drums?

i just bought a practice pad yesterday and it is rubber but it doesnt sound like the one's i have seen on the internet

Some of them are rip-offs, but sound isn't as important if you're just starting out. As a master of the drums (I use a completely horrible set) it's taught me that practice is more important than anything else. But the main point is to have fun. Good luck!
