Does the Senate's threat to sanction ABC for running this weekend's 9/11 movie smack of Stalinism?

Question

Once would expect a legislature in the USSR or China to bully a broadcast network, but here in the U.S.?

Judging by the ignorant replies I've gotten so far, it looks like there are a lot of idiots out today.

The 9/11 movie is full of inaccuracies! They also setting themselves up for some severe libel lawsuits by having actors who portray real people say things they did not say. They are not even allowing the real people being portrayed to see the movie or to screen the script for inaccuracies. They are misleading the American public as to the true events leading up to 9/11 by denying that the Clinton administration warned the new administration about impending terrorist attacks by Bin Laden. They should very definitely be forced to correct the inaccuracies.

I wasn't aware of the threat. Being as the movie supposedly 'sheds light' on Clinton's involvment with 9/11, plus the fact that the senate is Republican controlled, that is very interesting.

I think that the propaganda piece, "Path to 9/11" should be shown in it's entirety AFTER the November elections. It is obvious that this cheesy manipulated pile of crap was created and funded by the the right-wing to sway the electorate (not all that sophisticated to begin with) to vote for candidates who support the Bush regime's rape of America. That ABC would participate in such a sham seems to indicate that they have either been intimidated or infiltrated by the fascist elements trying to totally control America for their own benefit.

Wow!!! Somebody posted a similar question earlier. I didn't realize the senate was involved.. This is downrigh censor ship and and it rings of bushisim. I am begining to beleive we live in the least free country in the world.. How does the housing market in China look?? Things are getting out of hand here...

I think you have your facts a little wrong. From all I hear, this so-called "docu-drama" is very pro-Bush, and plays fast and loose with facts for political effect. I would guess if the Senate has a position it would be in favor of it. But they have no "sanction" power over a movie.

Where do you get your information from? I heard that democrats were complaining about it...but the Senate has no basis to sanction a television network for showing a drama - even if it is being 'sold' as a documentary.
