I'm very sad today. Got to work this morning, in a great mood and everything. All the sudden, was told to go home. I'm an Elementary Teacher and they said I was being terminated for not putting down all my past jobs on my application. That, I missrespresented myself. Now, I'm just sitting here in shock, wondering what to do next. I'm just so mad. I really need some positive feedback.

First of all...

Don't be shocked by anything when you're employed and you're not your own boss. It sounds corney... but EVERYTHING happens for a reason. You may not see it clearly right now... but they did you a favor. While it's unpleasant and scary to be without a job.. just remember you have skills and obviously a very good educational background.

Take this time to really set the stage for implemention or initiating some other worth while goals for yourself. While you're looking for another employment opportunity... stay focused and work on some of your hobbies, talents or gifts that you possess and allow those things to bring you a sense of satisfaction, fulfillment and accomplishment. It will also keep your mind occupied and less focused on any negativity surrounding this situation.

Also, while you're waiting on your next career move.. volunteer your time to a worthy organization or agency. Who say's you have to be in a classroom to teach. Organize an afterschool tutoring program in your neighborhood and get paid for it...You never know what kind of contacts you encounter from that.

In a few weeks or perhaps months you'll look back and really be amazed at how this "seemingly" crazy situation turned out for the better... TRUST!

Keep your chin up and be encouraged.

I am really sorry for you! but the best way to beat this is call me crazy treat yourself for a nice dinner and go out for a movie.
I know its hard but take today off and live for yourself ,take this up as a challange and start to apply for jobs from tomorrow.

Life moves on dear,no matter what there is always time ,all that you need to do is realise the fact you did a good job as a teacher and were fired for a stupid reason. Its a loss for that school.

All the best,Am sure you can get a better job in the near future.

Go out and do something fun today that you really enjoy. Monday call unemployement and start looking for another job. Next time make sure you put down all your past jobs on your applications so they cannot find another reason to fire you. I am sorry that happened to you but move on and find a better job you have no other options.

Sorry to hear that..but you are not the first person who is in this kind of situation and of course....not the last one as well. So, please try to cheer up...not just sit back alone. Make some outing...may be to the beauty parlor...change hair style...over there is the "information center", which you will hear a lot of things and might help you to forget this bad memory for the time being. Then start to think and put it on the paper about name of schools. Screen them and contact them for any possibility for your new job. Always tell yourself ...the show must goes on...so please move ahead and I sincerely wishing you good luck on your new adventure.

I would question the real reason for being fired so you will know not to make the same mistake in the future. While getting fired is traumatic it is not the end of the world. You have credentials and skills there are other jobs out there for you. Hold your head up, dust yourself off, dress up and go for it! When one door shuts another will open for you. Good Luck

Gosh ! that's bad. Take a break - spend time with friends or go for a walk / jog - do anything but sit there and feel sorry for your self. Doing that will only make you feel worse. Once you've crossed this sadness, you will figure out what you want to do. Start afresh and find another job.

Unless you were a professional child molester,I can't see what other job would have prevented you from becoming a teacher. Are you in a union? Can you appeal? Get to the bottom of it.Maybe your face just did'nt fit
