I had my Copper T IUD removed 7 weeks ago and I still haven't gotten my period. Is that normal?

I know I am not pregnant but I am very crampy and constipated.

The problem isn't that IUD cause infections its that IF you do get one while the IUD is in its harder to treat. So many women are mis-informed. Your period should return shortly I would give it another 3 weeks and then go to your DR. but if your really concerned then go to your DR and ask their expertise

IUD's make a woman more predisposed to PID (Pelvic Inflammatory Disease), an infection originating in the uterus, but which can travel into the Fallopian tubes and cause worse problems. You should get tested for PID, just to make sure. Also, since infections you may have had might cause scarring in the Fallopian tubes, you are at greater risk for an ectopic pregnancy, which can result in rupture of the tube and death!

I would get a sonogram to make sure your uterus and tubes are okay before trying to get pregnant. Also, get tested for various STDs and other infections, just as a precaution. As I stated, even if your partner is faithful, IUD's can cause infection by regular bacteria.
