It has rained hard somewhere in NM for the last 2 months. Why will today be any different?

Scattered rain showers and isolated thunderstorms in the morning...then numerous showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs in the upper 50s to mid 60s...except in the upper 40s to lower 60s over the higher elevations. Southwest winds 10 to 15 mph.
