I think it's ridiculous that they don't have the same rights as same sex couples. If they are in love, it is solely their business what they do. They deserve the same rights as all married couples. Their personal lives are none of society's business, if they want to be gay, it's their right, choice, and option--give them the same rights!

There is a big down side to all this you are asking about. Judging from the numbers of failed marriages in the straight world, and failed relationships in the Gay world, are YOU so sure you want to enter into a union that, upon its demise, will cost you about 1/2 of everything you own? Do you really want to pay a lawyer to end a relationship rather than an "adios, amigo."? And, let's just say that you find that Mr. Right (Right now,..whatever) and he starts applying the pressure to get married like straight guys have placed on them...then what are you going to do? Too many people get married thinking it is happily every after..and it is not. I think that Gay relationships are as stabile as they are BECAUSE the door is always open to walk out of. leave well enough alone! the tax benefits do not outweigh the others. Good luck
And to those of you who pompously shout "marriage is for a man and a woman, it is natural...etc....where in the hell is all this commitment when the chips are down..the first thing that happens is that one or the other heads off to a lawyers..so much for FAMILY VALUES...values my rear!

Same sex partners can marry, just not each other. They have the same marriage rights as the rest of us. A gay man can marry a woman. A lesbian can marry a man. It is not normal or natural or what God intended marriage to be to even consider marriage between same sex partners. If corporate America wants to give them health insurance coverage, that's fine. And if they are given inheritance rights, that's OK, too. But they can't get married. Marriage is the basis for family [procreation], and gay/lesbian couples cannot procreate. It's that simple.

The state gives married couples financial concessions to encourage and help maintain a stable environment for the raising of children. While it is acceptable for same sex couples to be able to grant their partners personal next of kin rights, I see no reason why the rest of society should subsidise your deviance with tax concessions.

I don't believe in gay marriage actually, but I'm cool with the civil union idea. Let them go down to City Hall and sign some forms and pay some fees so they can make legal and medical decisions for each other.
Bush Followers constantly preach hatred of gays, then wildly applaud a gay president like Bush, even as they marry their sisters and have sex with farm animals. So they're nothing but hypocrites.

No I don't..I don't believe in gay marriage...It devalues the whole marriage concept because marriage is supposed to be a union between a woman and a man. Marriage is for kids and starting a family not for tax deduction and gross income exclusions..
Ps haha I also do not believe in divorce so...

No, i don't think it is ridiculous
If 2 people of the same sex want to be together, they can, there is not law against it...but marriage between them is not right, not because of discrimination, but because of basic moral... marriage has to be between man and woman that's the way things are according to law, according to nature.

i think they should be offered the same benefits available to heterosexual relationships. i don't think they should be allowed to wed in the conventional since because marriage's origin is with the catholic church. but they should be allowed a union of somesort. just because some may not agree with that way of life does not mean they can dictate who else can or can not.

Absolutely!!! First of all, marriage is a legal contract, hence the license. Second, it is no one's business but your own . Third, and most important, religion does not belong in the law.

I think its sad. I feel like everyone, regardless of race or orientation should be able to just live freely and be treated fairly. Life is hard enough, why add stress?
