Most of my gay friends, if not all, are convinced that every man could go with another man, even me. I can argue for hours that I am interested in girls only and even if I respect them I am disgusted by the idea, but they won't change their mind or even listen to me, telling I am leing to myself, and that everyone does.
Why do they behave like that?

Because they are desperately trying to convince themselves and you that their behavior is normal....

For the same reason that straight guys and some straight girls often can't imagine how any male can really not want "p*ssy* -- if I had a 10$ bill for everytime I've had someone try to convince me that if I would only try , surely I'd turn straight -- then Jonathan and I would have a really nice vacation.

Alot of the basis of prejudice is centered around an inability to understand the "other" -- the "other" being whatever the self is not (verify that with a psychologist if you want, you will find it is accurate). There is prejudice, or a harmless sort, even among many good straight men who are fine with people being gay, but don't understand why they are, and imagine that they are deprived in some way. Why would you expect large numbers of gay men to feel differently about straight men? They don't, trust me.

I am only sorry that you have been the recipient of such ignorance -- but no more sorry than I would be if you were gay and had been the recipient of it in reverse. We all should learn to just love each other.

All of that said, I had a fair number of straight friends, particularly when I was young, which I suspect you are, who would ask me outright to suck their dick (I never asked them, never had to). It was assisted masturbation for them, but they loved it -- and I wonder if that isn't the type of thing your friends are thinking of -- but I don't know, and assume that they are just being somewhat ignorant.

Sorry.

Kind thoughts,

Reyn

I've heard a few say that but for the most part, no.
On the flipside of the coin, why is it that in many cases guys i have known to be straight, some with wives, some without, have gotten a few beers in them and made a pass at me? I am not feminine. I've done nothing to encourage that behavior. Why is it that once I hear the phrase "Dang, I'm drunk, I won't remember anything tomorrow", I know it's time to head for the door quickly. Y'see if you turn them down, they DO remember and act ashamed to be around you, if you go ahead and consent, some come back again like a puppy or the others STILL try to avoid you when THEY initiated the situation.

Wow, that's certainly a broad (and nasty) generalization.

Personally I 'tolerate' heterosexual males until I'm convinced they have something of merit to bring into my life -- and I certainly don't mean sexual 'somethings' either. To begin to consider that a straight man can be converted into a Gay man turns my stomach.

If it weren't for the heterosexual males our world would be a much safer and more enriching place in which to live.

This may come across as a bigoted response, and it is. I hasten to add that my *only* bias is what I've just written of. I have several straight males as very good friends that I'm very fortunate to have. They are among the few of the unique men -- straight or Gay -- on this planet. I would do anything for them, as they would for me.

To believe that Gay men can convert a straight man is ludicrous and preposterous and utterly disdainful. That fact is it cannot be done no more easily than a Gay man can be transformed into a Breeder. It's not possible.

Best Wishes!

I do not behave like that, and neither do most Gay men..some yes, I call it wishful thinking on their part. I for one, have NO interest in any straight man..why should I? There are plenty to go around, and I do not want an amature in my bed...I do not have the patience to teach anyone anything. I would think that a straight man would be a total bore in bed...hell, most striaght women find them so, why in the world would I want to try it? So trust me, few Gays are really like this...I am sure it makes a cute converstation, but that is really about as far as it goes.

i don't know why they believe that but my story goes like this. a long time ago i had a number of gay men friends who have sinced passed on.during that time there was this guy that everybody liked, i mean almost everybody. we use to call him the pied piper because wherever he went the party would go. well one night one of my gay friends who was very well off and had a new caddy a lot of money kept saying to us girls that he/she could have this guy if the conditions were right. well to make a long story short the next time i saw this friend they told me that he/she didn't get it on with the guy.that no matter what he was offered he wouldn't have sex with him/her,the guy was so against that type of sex that nothing could shake him not even a B/J*b. i was truly impressed, one because my friend could have lied and two the guy was actually not Bi-. so i guess the facts speak for themselves in my book. all men can't be persuaded in any circumstance.

Statisitcs from the Kinsey Reports:
46% of the male subjects had 'reacted' sexually to persons of both sexes in the course of their adult lives.

37% had at least one homosexual experience.

11.6% of white males (ages 20-35) were given a rating of 3 (about equal heterosexual and homosexual experience/response) throughout their adult lives.

10% of American males surveyed were "more or less exclusively homosexual for at least three years between the ages of 16 and 55.

Your friends are probably just being wishful thinkers. In my experience, I am much more attracted to straight men than gay men, in general. This somewhat mirrors how straight guys seem to be overly interested in lesbians. We always want the unattainable, and they may say they believe that any guy could be with a guy, but I'm sure they do not wholeheartedly believe it, or maybe they just haven't really thought it through.

That's like saying "all gay men could go with a woman." Trying to shoehorn someone into a sexual orientation that they are not born with is just wrong and causes lots of trauma (see also psychological problems of so-called "ex-gays").

Perhaps they are thinking about straight men in prison situations. I really don't consider that to be gay sex; more like rape and power plays for sexual and power gratification.

Although many people, straight and gay, have experimented in each other's world, most stick to their true calling.

Realistically, if you were stranded on a desert island for the rest of your life, sex may be sex to you. Look at prisons -- but homosexuality is the ability to LOVE someone of the same sex, not just to have sex with them. Some people just do that because they'll have sex with anything they can (and I don't mean bisexuals.)

You're still not into it and your friends are a little screwed up for not making that connection. Unless they would have sex with women, they can't know that's true: if men who are hard-wired to like men are also hard-wired to like women, it would probably be because they're hard-wired to like both.

I think it is because of all of those prison stories. That lends some weight to the concept. I don't agree with the statement but I do think a rather large percentage would if the right situtation arose. I just think most of those people are also not above lying about the truth.

I can't pressume to know why people do what they do, and think what they think, but i do think gay men are a little on the prideful side. Maybe it has something to do with so many generations of non-acceptance.

The "right" situation . . . perhaps if every woman in the world was gone. Only perhaps then. I might be happy to do without any sex.
