Oxygen level in water is low!
That is if the slime is excessive.
Some slime is normal but too much?
Make sure that there is enough circulation going on and add some oxygen stones.
Take the fish to a vet to check if the gills have some infections though. There could be parasites.

Has it been "attacked" by something? A neighbour's cat, or a passing heron?
The silver scales are suspicious.
I have not ever kept Koi, but have kept ordinary goldfish for years, and by far the commonest cause of loss is some sort of trauma (Frogs in the Spring are particularly difficult, as they tear the skin off the fish, which then die from secondary infection)
If your other fish still seem OK I would not over react, by "treating" your pond with anything drastic, but rather spend a bit of time, with a net in your hand, looking for a "culprit" - it may be a Dytiscus beetle, or, as I mentioned earlier, a neighbour's cat.
Always sad when we lose even a fish.
Good Luck.

no longer likely to restate the different solutions as they recommend a competent commencing factor. yet another rationalization for dying i've got come during in exterior ponds is a single fish gets injured with the help of a predator collectively with a cat and the harm creates an beginning for a deadly ailment. study the fish physique for minor harm, white cloudiness on the floor is a demonstration of Ick. (Ick is a deadly freshwater fish illness that could kill particularly at once if no longer dealt with. Ick is many times the end results of undesirable water high quality.) the different wrongdoer i could suspect could be a speedy substitute in water temperature from day to nighttime or nighttime to day inflicting your koi to bypass into marvel. this is maximum possibly if the pond is particularly shallow and/or has a low water quantity. Do you have something like a pump or bubbler stressful the exterior of the water? Do you have underwater flowers? If u haven't any disruption of the water floor then there is way less launch of CO2 from the water and much less absorption of oxygen. Underwater flowers launch oxygen for the time of the day and CO2 for the time of the nighttime. in case your water floor grew to become into stagnant and you have underwater flowers the CO2 point could have become too severe for the time of the nighttime and killed off your fish. i'm in user-friendly terms suggesting this possibility because of the fact i'm getting the impact out of your question that the koi is the biggest fish interior the pond as you stated the different 8 as goldfish.

you need to check your water quality, take a sample to your local pond shop they will do it for you most times they wont even charge you , the first thing i would do is a partial water change do it straight away dont leave it , change at least 2 thirds of the water just to make sure then add some pond salt , salt is a good antiseptic for fish , make sure you add plenty, ask at the pond shop for the right amount for your pond size , hope all ok and will keep fingers crossed for you !

You need to test the PH of the water, it should be 6-8, anymore and it could be affecting the fish. You can get kits for PH testing from fish stores.
Hope that helps
