Stay at home dads are the coolest thing on earth!! And if the stay at home dad is hot then he is indeed sexy!! I prefer to call the stay at home dad "the handy dad". The reason why I like to call them this is because some are so handy with everything -the kids, the house and home/auto repairs. It's too bad that many men fall short and fall into the category of " I'll bring home the bacon and that should be enough". Going to work and bringing home the bacon is the easy part. The hard part is managing the rest of life as well as making sure everyone elses life in the family is running smoothly.

It depends. When I was younger, my dad stayed at home for a period of time. He was laid off from his job. My mom worked full-time. To this day, my mom still talks about how my dad was the worst stay-at-home parent. He wasn't able to keep the house up to my mom's standards. The rugs were never vacuumed well enough, the kitchen was never cleaned up right, etc. He wasn't lazy, but he just didn't have a domestic touch. It was never his thing. I think some men are lazy. Others probably try, but just aren't good housekeepers. And some are probably fabulous and maybe better than some women. They are the same as Stay-at-home moms. There will always be good ones and always be bad ones.

Stay at home dads are sexy, if they are choosing to be at home to support the and help futher the career choice of the woman. To make it a goal???? Im not sure if that really fits the idea of being a man. Stay at home Fathers are often made by accident , when by chance the females career takes off faster than the males or when she works outside the home but he works from home. But I guess fair is fair.

Ew. No. I want a man with a life purpose. Not a couch potato. Everyone knows that men and women are completely different. Stay at home dad is just not something a straight, married man could be successful at. I don't even really think it's acceptable for women to be stay at home mothers.
I think it's a stupid excuse for women to stay at home their whole lives just because they're damn lazy. They don't even do anything at home. Their kids are at school. Most of them have housekeepers to clean. etc.

ew. ew. ew. I want a working man. I want him to be determined...to have a life goal...to be a strong willed man...

Why do people ask these questions? Of COURSE it's ok! Don't look for approval outside of yourself.

Or perhaps you just said it the wrong way, and simply wanted to know the perception. In which case I'll calm down.

My boss is the breadwinner for her family. It is unusual, but I doubt anyone but a redneck would get up in arms about it.

It's always been acceptable for women, but starting in the 80's, it started becoming less so. There was the whole issue of "you don't work!" "Yes I do - I work in the home. YOU work OUTSIDE the home!" and all that crap.

It's still acceptable, but I think the hot button for them now is whether or not it's "work."

Of course, it's OK for a man to be a stay at home dad. I commend men for wanting to take on such a challenge. Children are so much better off having at least one parent home with them.

As far as them being sexy ... I'm not sure I can answer that. It depends on the man and his attitude.

I don't know about being sexy stay-at-home.

I work full time - would I rather be at home spending time with my newborn daughter? You'd better believe I would.

Is it okay for a woman to want to be a stay at home? Absolutely - that way we can ensure our children are raised properly and not by some daycare 'professional' that cares nothing about your child. (just my opinion, keep in mind)

It's great as long as the man doesn't sit at home drinking beer and eating bon-bons while the kids play in their own crap. That goes for women too!
