All government checks come before the holiday or weekend if that is when they are scheduled to arrive.
It is not politically correct to call them foodstamps anymore, that is demeaning. The program uses a debit cards and coupons to give the recipient more dignity.

Food stamps is not just for people that don't work it's people that get them and work as well just don't make enough to pay bills and buy food y'all sound ridiculous! And to all the ones making the comments "I would never get on food stamps"... "Welfare" If you had the opportunity you'll take it as well. And to the ones saying people just having kids to get food stamps what type of sense does that make I don't think someone in their right mind going to go through 10 hours of labor just for food I'm 22 years old no kids been working sense I was 16 in college and I work I get food stamps to help my mother around the house my mom is very successful but my mom also have 4 kids pay bills car notes inc. the system don't look at that "single mothers" it's a struggle when you make enough money! God bless y'all all the ones that's putting people down about welfare!

To answer your question, no. Food stamps now come automatically on your Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card. Depending on your case number, you have a scheduled day of the month where the benefit card will get "recharged". No need to worry about the holiday anymore.
I do agree that some people do abuse the welfare system however many many more families are in need. If you are in need and qualify for benefits, use them.

That's exactly why I waited until my cats were 5 and 11 years old and went out and rescued four dogs who never sleep. One of the dogs just so happens to have a major licking problem so both cats are now the proud owners of a few bald spots.

Thats ridiculous I dint get foodstamps(which is what they are called) I use my @#!$ing debit card to get my !@#$ing money(which I WORK for) out of the bank! FOODSTAMPS SHOULD BE GIVING TO PEOPLE REALLY IN NEED!! NOT TO SOME LAZY BASTARD THAT KEEPS POPING OUT KIDS JUST TO GET MONEY!! S.O.A.B!!!

It is a shame for working people to take a labor day holiday, and cause non-working people to have to wait another day for their food stamps.
The Democrats will do something about this when they regain power.
Working people must be punished.

I thought Food Stamps came in some sort of CC form and it was automatic??? And I agree maybe you should get off the computer and get a job .. Get off the food stamps !!!
