Honestly it depends on what is most improtant to you. For my 2 cents I recommend HP (Hewlet Packard). They are by far the most reliable, easiest to upgrade, they have a top notch support system (though I doubt you would ever need it), and to top it all off there prices are amounst the lowest. I personally own two HP desk tops and a laptop. About 9 other members of my family own HPs (and have had various HP modles over the years) and none of them have ever had a problem. To me a 100% satisfaction and 0% defect rating speaks volumes about a company. The desicion is yours but I would highly recommend at least checking HP out and giving them the once over.

The real question is, what is your price range? you can get get a computer that does all that for less than $500, go to dell.com and look around. If you have a little more to spend I suggest the Dell XPS, as computer technology is starting to slow a bit. The XPS should stay current for the next couple of years.

Easiest way is to go to Dell.com and pick a base system..beef up the RAM and video a bit. Be sure to add Office 2003 and you should be set pretty cheap.

A standard consumer model with some added memory would work fine for you
