Sixties: Was a time of wild freedom and creativity and exploration...liberals rule! Was a sweet innocent time for romance.

Seventies: A "what the hell!" attitude of a time. Let's just all party-down and dance..lol..we hate politics! Was a sex, drugs and rock-n-roll time for romance.

Eighties: Time to get serious - let's put the nose to the grindstone and make lots of money...conservatives rule! Was a big-hair & punkin' out on Saturday - and prim and proper on Sunday time. Romance? Who has time for romance kind of a time.

It was most certainly much slower. I graduated from high school in 1972. People were more into loving each other. I am not talking about just sex, drugs, and rock and roll, although certainly, there was a lot of that. Memories! It was also the civil rights era and Viet Nam. Both were excellent reasons to bring people closer together who shared a common cause. Music reflected the times and played a part in changing the world.

Since I have lost so many brain cells, I will close now. If I think of more later, I will let you know. Unfortunately, it isn't just lost brain cells. Now, I also have senior moments.

People were more courteous and respectful back then. The 60's were when the culture first started to change from traditional values to a more revolutionary way of thinking, but people actually started to become more open and accepting of each other. During the 70's, everything suddenly became more relaxed and people seemed to get alone better. The 80's started changing all of that because people became more materialistic and self-centered. The 90's were when people started to become really irresponsible. Now, we seem to have lost all concept of manners, compassion, and basic human respect.

Read "Friday" by Robert Heinlein. Toward the end of the book, he goes into this exact concept. And he wrote this book about 40 years ago.

nah, i was there and the big difference was technology.
you didn't have cell phones, the internet and wikipedia.
there was no email, but the basic human motives and
everything else was the same. people tend to remember
the good parts. Next time ask them if they'd rather not have a cell phone and 100 channels on TV and DSL.
Of course they prefer the modern method, so they do it.
Human motives and actions and the level of romance is not different. Now we can have sweet, romantic text messages.
or send poems by email. Different but no less romantic.

You had to have lived thru those decades to truly appreciate all that they were. Each decade had roots of it's own that we all learned from. Each era was different. And thankfully enough all was preserved through documentaries music, books, movies. Such wonderful history. There's really alot of difference but people are still people, and as far as the romance side yes I think that in some ways it has changed but in other ways it's the same as it has been for years. Only today alot of the innocence is lost.

The music was more romantic, especially in the sixties. The seventies was kind of the fun-loving, "me" generation. Nowadays, it seems to be more sex, drugs and violence.

The environmental qualty of water and air replaced into extremely more suitable. we'd want to make sure how a lot we favor to pay for sparkling air and water and basically how sparkling we are prepared to make it. to sparkling it heavily more desirable will be exponentially dearer. widespread I help many of the rules and they paid my income for a pair many years yet each so often the rules get contained in the way of cleansing up the internet sites. They concentration on nonsense and waste money and aspects. an analogous ingredient is heading our way if we enable authorities modify our means. that could be begging for corruption and incompetence and it truly is going to eliminate money that could be more desirable proper spent elsewhere.

Yes, and more interesting. People were nicer, sexier, friendlier. And then came disco, which was fun. School was tougher, drugs were less harmful, there were real choices among political candidates, and everyone was less busy doing nothing important. Few people were obese, driving huge boats of cars, fewer people were chronically depressed and in need of medication, living in a mental garbage heap. It was a turbulent time, but a happy time.

Don't know about it being more romantic as more innocent for some and way too drug infested for others. Today can be just as innocent just shut off MTV for a bit and breathe in the air!
