that the question you ask is directed towards them in a subliminal way. Like you had an argument with a friend and they stopped talking to you so now when you ask a question, they always think you are talking about them.

I think it depends on the person and how well they know you. I have a couple of friends on here and we do tend to direct our questions at each other, just for fun.
Besides that, human nature insists that the world revolves around us, so that must mean that any and all questions do as well. I personally do not ever think a question is directed at me, unless I have prior knowledge that it is.

I've had that happen too. I guess it's the other person's guilty conscience that makes them feel that way. It's their problem, not mine.
