More specifically, there are different channels broadcasting different things, CNN is rebroadcating its original report all day on its pipeline, ABC is releasing a cable movie (despite the popularity) and many of us were in some way affected by the turn of events. What are you doing to remember that day?

We are reminded everyday at least I am. I am not sure that it will be any different for me on 9/11/06 then it has been everyday since 2001. I will never forget that morning when my roommate ran into my room and told me wake up, wake up and as he leaves my room he turns on my TV. It just happened to be on channel 2 and as I sat in bed watching the smoke billow out of the first tower I witnessed the other plane hit. Of course the impact wasn't as harsh on TV as it was for those who were in the city that day. The live coverage was enough for me though and I will never get those images of people jumping to their death from 90 stories above.

So what will I do to remember that day? Maybe light some candles, say a prayer....I am not sure. For me its just a depressing day. Something I wish I could forget.

Firstly, I will pray for all the surviving families of those who were in 9/11. I really don't want to re-watch the reports on TV. They are too painful. I will just keep the families in prayer and in my thoughts.

I don't have a TV. I'm going to take a few minutes of silence to remember the lives lost, both on that day and in the ensuing years. then I'm going to discuss with my students the pointlessness of hate and bigotry. the only long-term cure is education.
