For the same reason some Republicans don't have any sense. Some people are just idiots, especially the ones who try and generalize based upon the actions of a few individuals.

COMMON SENSE tells you that if the Constitution DEFINES this country, it's ideals, it's limits, and specifies the the rights, liberties, and protections of it's people...and the so-called Patriot Act that CHANGED the Constitution diminishes those citizen's rights, liberties, and protections, then America has ALREADY changed...by definition! These changes affect each and every AMERICAN CITIZEN, and NOT terrorists. Islamic Fundamentalists continue to use our flight schools. Our borders are WIDE open.
Our forefathers wrote the Constitution in such a way as to grant US ultimate power over our government, and to limit government's and a President's power in order to prevent a dictatorship, military regime, or police state....FOR VERY GOOD HISTORICAL REASONS.
Bush and the neo-cons (notice I didn't say Republicans) are changing (and have changed) the Constitutionally-defined power structure in our government, stripping us of our Constitutional rights and protections against them, and have already (as a political entity) won the LOYALTY of our law enforcement and military (versus being loyal to the American PEOPLE). Bush broke 26 laws with his programs of spying on U.S. citizens. Presidents, Republican OR Democrat, are NOT above the law.
IF our reasons for invading Iraq are valid, why did he change them 3 times? The fact still remains that he initially sent our military there under false pretense (WMD's), and broke International law doing so. Is it okay for him to have our military fight for Iraqi freedom, while he Constitutionally strips US of OURS?
Is everything HE does okay simply because he's a neo-con? Or do you think it's our government's duty to be so arrogant that they can just do whatever they want, and call us unpatriotic Nazi's if we don't agree? This is OUR country, and OUR military dammit....not theirs.
How SENSELESS do you have to be for none of this to ring any bells in that head of yours?
What if CLINTON had done these things?
The Democrats are so busy being on the defensive, they haven't done a darned thing about any of this.
Screw BOTH parties. This is about US taking back our damned country, and speaking out against a President who has no regard for our laws, or the Constitution of this country that he had taken an OATH to protect. WAKE THE F*** UP!

you are an idiot. Some do, some don't. Just like republicans. I am a democrat but I believe that there are good and bad people in both parties. Moveon.org is a very liberal organization which has some valid arguments, but some of it's points I would agree don't make sense.
many people feel betrayed by Bush - some because they felt he lied, others because he is so ignorant.

I do believe the Dems you speak of are those who are only interested in furthering their own career. They do not care about the security of the nation, it's people, or anything but power for themselves. Most of the "Mainstream" Media not only allows this to occur but encourages it. The former Clinton administration officials were all over CNN yesterday complaining about the upcoming ABC Mini series -What lead up to 9/11. They are still trying to cover up their lies and lack of any strategic foreign policy that would have protected the United States. Had this story been about a Republican Administration CNN wouldn't even take their call! Instead the Dems are concerned about their "image" and covering up the lies they told. Wolf Blitzer spoke about Sandy Berger......he failed to mention that Mr. Berger had his pants filled with documents he smuggled out of the national archives...........I wonder what secret info they contained?.............CNN isn't questioning that are they? These Dems will never change vote them out of office in November!
