Why do plumbers warn against feeding a shower pump from the mains supply. The mains supply into my house is low pressure and i want to fit a shower pump so i can get a decent shower (No i dont smell yet) I have the chance of a working 2bar pump, do i buy it?

Two reasons, first if your water pressure is just temporarily low, and it comes back up, you'll be sending too much pressure for the fittings of your shower and could leak. Second reason is depending on what type of feed lines you have, these are generally made to hold in pressure and can collapse if your new pump "sucks" too hard on the supply line to it.
