Even if you made a mistake, thats not a professional way to handle it. Your workplace is using 'scapegoating' and thats a bad environment to work in. Look for a job somewhere else, and when you leave tell the manager why you are doing so in a calm and matter of fact way.
Scapegoating is blaming one person for all the problems. It doesn't fix the problem and it promotes a sneering attitude among staff and an unpleasant atmosphere. Although the people who join in think they benefit, long term it means they have to join in or risk becoming the scapegoat themselves; thats why I've never understood people who go along with it!
It appeals to the kind of person who used to hang around the school bully.
Its the method used byu the Nazis in WW2 to get a lot of people to hate communists, gypsies, the disabled and Jews!

Sack them.
No seriously in what environment, Home, Work etc
I am 24 and run a company with over 200 associates and witness bullying all the time. I don't stand for it I don't care what their excuse is. I personally do not work in the building but if there is a case I handle it myself.
If your boss is like me stand up for yourself, tell them or confront the problem. Not all situations end up violent.
One thing to ask yourself and you may not like this, are you to blame? If you are not who is? Address the problem and solve these issues.

Confront them and ask them if the have a problem with you.
If they are bold enough to say yes and tell you why, talk to them about the best way to resolve it.
If they are just blatantly rude and nasty walk away and console yourself they are low life with the unfortunate problem of lack of intelligence.
It may be irritating to put up with but the Less you rise to it after asking them their problem the less they will get out of it and finally give up if someone new comes along.
What ever you do be confident but not argumentative
Isn't life just a barrel of fun lol

You must work for the same place i do!!!!! keep a note of everything get some advice from the citizens advice and then go to the boss i did and it worked once they know you have sought outside advice they must stop it or if it gets worse they can't sack you and you will have a case for unfair dismissal or bullying, no employer wants that, luckily tho my boss kicked it in the butt even tho she was in on it. once i made it aware i knew what they were doing it has stopped.

I would first assess myself to determine if they had a basis for their accusations.
If not, I would then confront them, giving reasons for your behavior, and ask for suggestions on how it could be improved. Discuss reasons and logistics, to determine which way might be better.
However, they may just be the nit-picky type, who likes to complain about everyone and everything... in which case, I would simply ignore them; but rather prove myself a better person to the other people around.

It's happened to me. I used to be a manager, with three fourteen people working for me. A couple of them were forever saying bad things about me, that I hadn't deserved. I treated them nicely and with respect. Sometimes, this will happen. The important thing to remember is IT'S THEIR PROBLEM, NOT YOURS.

It.s hard but do your best to ignore them just remember it will be someone else they are doing it to tomorow. They usually have prob,s and are not the kind you would chose to have as a friend so distance yourself from them if poss. Take care and keep smiling it will help.

Wonder what they did to make them divert everyones attention from themselves and onto someone else.
They are probably the bad guys and inadequate as well!
It happened to me and when I got a new job, they moved onto someone else. Don't let them do it to you.

Find a new job and tell yourself that you can do a lot better than work with a set of immature morons.
