The only fashion that has survived from the 80's, that is still popular today is denim.

Now, a classic example of 80's fashion that is making a comeback is the punk rock motiff.

The fashion that died are parachute pants, and leg warmers.

The "leg warmers" I see coming back into fashion today are those slouchy ones that bag out near the ankle. That was something that used to happen to my leg warmers in the 80's that I hated, and now it is fashionable. Go figure! They're one of the artifacts of the whole Japanese anime and J-rock/J-pop thing that, in itself, seems to hold to many 80's fashions, including the uniform-type outfits and big shoulders, bright colors and all. The baby doll lace thing that was a Madonna thing in the 80's and also the lacy frontier type skirts seem to have evolved to become the Elegant Gothic Lolita (EGL) phenomenon. A lot of this is coming out of Japan now, but it was, in slightly different forms, popular in the 1980's. In the 80's, I think it was a melding of the punk/new wave scene and also a riff on the structured look of the 1940's, while in the 2000's it seems to have a definite air of science fiction about it. Or maybe I've just watched too much anime...

Ahhh, the glorious 80's... slouchy socks with jeans tucked into them, Keds, velcro Reebok high top sneakers, neon clothing, sharply spiked hair,

Original rocker t-shirts, now considered vintage, have been seen around and can fetch a pretty penny or two if you have any laying in a box in your attic...

I would think it is safe to say that the leggins under a mini skirt look came from the later part of the 80's and is now just making a come back. I have also noticed some of the really thick, cumberbund type belts are coming back for women...

There are a few 80's trends that have re-surfaced recently - layered shirts/sweaters, deep v neck sweaters, skinny jeans and cropped pants. The Lacoste shirts continue to be classic garments.

Well... Skinny pants and waise sinching big belts are back in now.

My favorite however (even though people now have the brains not to assume it actually looked good even then.) Was... Hot Pink Leg Warmers and white leather Capizeo's over Black stirrup streachy pants with your fathers huge white dress shirt with the collar and the sleeves up, and HUGE plastic pink and black Jewelery!

Oh that... and pleather pants in colors! LMAO!

Leg warmers. High heels with 'baby' type socks - short, turned over-tops with lacey edges. Straight-legged jeans. Black t-shirts with red & white Japanese logos with the sleeves cut off. Banana clips holding up hair in the back, poofy 'big hair' on top. Gold chains & bangle bracelets. And loads more!

Don't know which ones will come back.

Go to any NASCAR event or swap meep and you will come accross them.

They, unfortunately, will never lose their popularity among some.
