I'll agree we do have a few basic freedoms. And I know what I am gonna say next is gonna start an argument or 'debate'. I want to bring up the issue of smoking in public. This is a freedom that citizens all over the country are giving up voluntarily, it's not about smoking. What it is about the fact that people are giving up their RIGHT to choose something. We have given up our obvious right to talk on the telephone without having someone listen in on us. By the way, why did nothing ever come of that situation? I'm straying here. My point is, if we don't stand up for what rights we have left; the day will come when we won't have the right to stand up.

They are dying quickly. The ACLU is supporting the rights of oddballs and tyrants instead of the rights of the common person.
In the courts, the defendants have all the rights while the victims have none, and as their past put under the microscope. The perp's criminal history isn't admissible in the proceedings, even when they are repeat offenders.
Christians are having their rights taken away. Their ability to assemble is hampered by misinterpretation of the laws. Their right to pray is challenged. School students aren't allowed to write essays about Biblical people or events. Students are not allowed to have prayer as part of their graduation ceremonies, and Christmas vacation and Easter break are now - winter holiday and spring break. Singing Christmas songs about the birth of Christ are not allowed at school "winter holiday" programs.
Where have the rights of the common man gone???
I wish I knew. We need them back.

Civil rights have been covered up with alot of other laws that politicians push for to make themselves look like do-gooders. Call up your local media and ask for a press conference on what you just asked us, they'll laugh you outta town. Free speech went with it, crooked cops, so wheres the well regulated militia? Freedom of religion is now based on well we can't do this or that because some one might file a lawsuit and say thier religion was violated, it just keeps growing, keeps getting worse.

The question relies upon on the point of the judgeship. superb courtroom judges: it extremely is all approximately what proportion liberals vs. conservatives make up the physique by way of fact at the instant, the form is open to "interpretation", no longer absolutes. State judges can't violate federal/state civil liberties, lots of that have been appreciably curtailed by way of specific interest communities foyer. One occasion, is "hate language". One used to have the means to specific their opinion by way of fact this usa used to permit that. It does not to any extent further, and the judges could desire to withhold that regulation, or they are removed from workplace via the yankee Civil Liberties (which protects specific interest communities, no longer the final public. interior of sight judges can't violate their county/city rules that are tied in to the state and federal rules.

Last time I looked we still had freedom of religion.
Freedom to assemble.
freedom of speech
freedom to marry who ever we love and want to marry.
We are not sold to the highest bidder and he can beat us and torture us. We can divorce an abusive mate.
Without getting our heads chopped off.
So compared to some we do pretty good.
