Darmstadtium (atomic number 110) and roentgenium (111) were discovered in Germany in 1994, followed by ununbium (112) by the same team in 1996. All superheavy atoms with atomic number 112 and higher are still unnamed, and use systematic numerical names from the Latin. Ununquadium (114) was discovered in 1999, Ununhexium (116) and ununoctium (118) in 2001, and ununtrium (113) and ununpentium (115) in 2004, all by international efforts at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in Moscow. Notably, ununseptium (117) remains undiscovered, but is conjectured to exist. None of these most recent discoveries occur in nature; all are prepared in laboratories.
