Who is better? Person X or Person Y?

Person X ever since he was a child, he always got 90% in all his history test.

Person Y is improving day by day, so basically, in third grade he got 43% in history test, in 9 grade he got 67%, and in 12 grade he got 89%.

Thing of it this way, person Y have a chance to get 91% some day since he is always improving while person X will most likely get 90% all the time.

Which person would you chose to be? Person X/ PersonY?

Interesting. I'm not sure that you realize that you have asked two distinctly different questions.

Your headline asks which is better. You ask us to make a value judgement. It has about the same relevence as asking which is a better vehicle, a Camaro or a Ferrari. One can set up a series of criteria, such as quarter mile tracks, reliability surveys, etc.

Your final paragraph asks a seperate question. You ask us which of the two we'd rather be. There may be characteristics of BOTH choices that may be attractive and repellent, but we must make a choice. Back to the Camaro or Ferrari scenario, I may be attracted to the exotic quality of the import, but would find the purchase price and maitenance of the Camaro a better buy. It is like asking which would I buy.

Which is the better car?

Which would I likely buy?

X is obviously not perfect and doesn't try since achieving 90% is good enough and not trying for 100%. Y works hard for constant improvement. Yet hard work is not the only judgment of character. You say nothing of the soul...with the info given, neither X or Y is better than the other.

:) how can u tell who is "better"? grades in school is one thing... from the information given, obviously the 2nd person works hard to continuously improve. that shows character. however, on the outside, to some they ONLY SEE the grade. and may never see the changes until the 2nd one gets higher than the 1st? is that fair? not really..but sometimes it is life. that is why, person #2 MUST do it for his or her Own Gain...his or her Own Life.... not for anyone else, not for acclaimation or praise..for his or her own self worth. eventually someone will see that person is Worth something...even if on the outside the grades may show something else.

Neither is a better person. As long as they're both trying their hardest, they're equal.

Neither. Person X is too lazy to improve himself and person y is too stupid to get anywhere.
