Is Steve Smith from the carolina panthers and LL Cool J ( a.k.a. Todd Smith) related?

They look alot a like and have the same the last name. Even the facial expressions they make are so similar. Does anyone know??? Trying to find this out for a while now. I know LL is Nelly's uncle...... And they all look soooo similar.
