a week after the birth of my last baby,i had a very serious headache.the neuron said that a vein or something like that burst in my brain or that i bleeded in the brain , reason being that i pressed too much when i was trying to give birth to my last baby. All the tests and scans carried out on me showed nothing,i also had no paralysis, memory loss or anything related to such ailments.shortly after that i became pregnant again.my neuron adviced me to terminate the pregnancy, saying that it is too dangerous,i refused to do that cause i hate abortion,i believe it is murder and that the child has a right to live.my neuron is also advicing me now to go for a ceasarean section to avoid pushing and pressing/bearing down which i must do to bring forth my baby.what do i do? should i go for a c- section even after series of tests have shown that everything is okay in my brain.if i really bleeded in the brain ,why is there nothing to be seen after all these tests and no accompanying ailments.

I think you mean vaginal, not virginal. :-)
Personally, I would seek out a second opinion before deciding what to do.

Your neurologist suggests a c-section. Share this information with your ob/gyn. Ask that your medical records be forwarded to him or her.
You can reduce the need for a c-section if you labor without an epidural to eliminate pain. Pain killers delivered in this fashion slow down labor and almost always end with c-sections. I suggest you take your neurologist seriously and proceed with caution.
Comedian Steven Wright once told a joke that made me feel better after laboring 30 hours and still ending up with a c-section.
He said, "I was born by c-section. You can't tell except when I leave a room. I go out the window."
It was a big deal in my family to have a vaginal birth. Some badge of honor about being tough, etc. After I heard that joke I realized how ridiculous that notion was. The point is to get your baby here safely with as little trauma to both of you as possible. BTW: my healthy 22 yr. old doesn't exit rooms by the window! LOL!
Wishing you God's blessing of a safe and speedy delivery and a healthy, happy baby. God bless.

Did you have an epidural with your first baby?? Epidural does have some side effects that are not really pleasant, including the headache that might last for a few days. I think you should consult another dr (neuron) to make sure everything is all right. I support you agaisnt abortion, as long as there is not harm for you. If a c-section is better for you then i guess its better than harming yourself or the baby with vaginal birth. Wish you all the best and good luck.

This would be a hard decision, however I would have some faith in my Dr. if he says I did indeed have bleeding in the brain even if I didn't agree. If giving birth vaginally would even POSSIBLY harm you or your child, I would opt for the c-section. I myself have had 2 and will be having a 3rd in 12 days...and it is not that bad. If it will guarantee you and your baby's safety then I would follow my Dr.'s advice. I wish you luck and I hope you make the right decision whatever that may be. Just don't totally discount your Dr.....he went through years of medical school for a reason! Good luck!

wow - ive never heard of a situation like yours.
having your doctor recomend 1st an abortion & then a c-section leads me to believe he feels you are a genuine risk. if thats true then it may be best to have the c-section. its better to be safe than sorry.
before deciding however, i would get a second opinion on all of this. since your doctor couldnt find anything wrong with your brain after running tests then he could well be jumping to conclusions, or like so many, he could be covering his own @ss - some forms of labour pain control will lead to headaches, but then your doctor will know that... a second opinion followed by careful consideration is whats needed here.
i have no medical training, but i too would doubt if you have anything wrong with your brain. i also would not have aborted, but i *think* i would get that c-section - just incase.
good luck

I'd ask your ob/gyn also what they think. I am just sure a neurologist would not advise against it unless he felt there was a degree of danger 4 you. IMO better safe then sorry. If you would get a brain bleed after delivery your children could be left without their mom which dose no one any good. BUT this is a personal choice get another nuro see what they say if both AGREE I'd do a c section.

I would listen to your doctor to be on the safe side, & have the c-section. What happened to you could be very serious. Just because everything is o.k. now doesn't mean that it won't happen again. It could. And it could be worse this time & it could be deadly. If I was in that situation I would choose the c-section so both the baby & I would be safe.

One question. did you have an epideral for your 1st delivery. One of the side affects of a epideral is that you can get a horrible headache. I'm not sure of all the details because I did not opt for the epideral...I was too scared of it lol. You may want to question your dr. if this may be the case. GOOD LUCK :) Tona

Studies have shown vaginal births are in some cases better for baby health wise. When the baby is coming out the birth cannal, it helps push amniotic fluid out. But you should do what you doctor thinks is in your and your baby's best intrests... Congrats and good luck.

i would listen to the dr and go for a c section. it might be safer. technology is good but not perfect. maybe something is going on in your brain and the test didn't detect it.
