good question

It's of no use. But nature likes to save on design. So both sexes have nipples, but in the absence of the proper X chromosom, no breasts develop.

Both sexes also have facial hair, but it develops into something visible only if there is a Y chromosom i.e about 20x more testosterone in the blood, than if you have the X chromosom.

Both sexes have originally similar genitalia, I mean in the womb, and then they develop differently as the baby matures.

This is why, by the way, transvestites can play those tricks with their bodies, just by taking hormones.

You can't help but admire how efficient Nature is, I mean how many car manufacturers have a model that, if you change the oil, develops different characteristics? ;-)

We all start out as more or less female during embryonic and early fetal growth. Nipples get formed on both sexes, but only female fetuses have the estrogen required to complete their early development and make them capable of functioning at sexual maturity. Sometimes at birth, both male and female infants will respond to the mother's hormone levels and produce a few drops of milk, sometimes called "witch's milk."

Because all babies start out as GIRLs in the womb. Then hormones help their clit turn into a penis resulting in a boy. That is why boys still have nipples.
