My best friends and I went from Sacramento to Hollywood to see one of our favorite bands from the UK. It was their first appearance in the US, and they played 2 shows (we went to both of course!) and we got to meet them and drink with them at an after party...it was great!!

Well, when I was a kid I used to go camping every summer with my parents, and grandparents across the US. We've camped through Yellowstone, the Grand Canyon, Florida and once through Canada and then back down through New England. The road trips were enjoyable on each trip because we would caravan with my parents driving a van and my granparents in their camper. The Grand Canyon trip was my favorite. We drove from the eastern US through the plains states and into the desert and saw many canyons and the Rocky Mountains. We stopped at several Indian reservations. Everynight we stayed in a different campground and they were all beautiful. Those trips are especially memorable for me now that we are all grown up and I don't see my brother and sisters as much anymore and my granparents are too old to travel like that now. Ah, memories!

Lots of good ones, lots!
Last year I helped my brother move from Portland to LA. We wanted to make a non stop journey so that his stuff didnt get stolen over night. We were in a 30 year old Uhaul truck that kept braking down in the middle of the desert. The brakes also failed and I fell asleep driving but my brother woke me up. The trip took 26 hours going straight there with very small bathroom breaks and long truck break downs and no sleep. It was that trip that got me addicted to energy drinks

I went from Jakarta, Indonesia, all the way to Surabaya in East Java. By car!!! It took 18 hours and everybody was exhausted! The road was bumpy everywhere and we had to sleep somewhere, but the motels were full so we just camp there. I can't remember why it's so memorable, it was like 15 years ago.

There are two actually, and both are to Canada. The first trip was just me, my husband and our youngest son (who was 3 months at the time). We drove up through Ontario, then through Quebec and over to New Brunswick to visit his mother. He showed me lots of neat places along the way (he's originally from Canada) and then we came back down stateside through Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania, and home to Ohio. I got to see so many places and things along the way and share them all with the love of my life.
The second trip was with all three of our kids (11, 8 and 1) We drove up to Kitchener, Ontatio to visit his family there, then went on to Toronto to sightsee (the CN Tower was awesome), then we drove over to Niagra Falls. We got to see the falls just as the sun was setting and it was beautiful!! Then we came back through New York, Pennsylvania and home to Ohio. This one was great, because the kids were so excited to go to Canada. I think they thought it was going to be like some kind of amusement park or something!! Our youngest son became ill right after we left and the only way we could keep him from throwing up all the time was by giving him Pedialyte. It was a crazy, exhausting trip, but we all had a great time.

Senior year of highschool. Loaded up my '79 POS and drove from Colorado to Vegas to LA to San Diego and even made it down to Mexico. It was probably the best way to official end my childhood.
