So people used to know right away by brand what cars/trucks/SUVs were made in America (entirely made here). I am looking to buy a new vehicle, can you all list some vehicles made entirely in the USA???

I don't want a piece of crap car. I just believe in the Made In The USA is better thing. OK so if not ENTIRELY, can you all help me find something close? I like SUV's (small ones) though and cars are fine also, nothing to huge.

When looking at the sticker on new cars, it should tell you the percentage of components made in the US versus foreign. It will also tell you final assembly or point of entry.

Nissan, Toyota and Honda make a great deal of their cars in the US now and often contain a large amount of domestic parts. On the other hand, many cars such as the Escalade, the Mustang and others are now built in Mexico or elsewhere.

As previously mentioned, look at the VIN to determine. If you want domestic, stay away from J (Japan), K (Korea), 3 Mexico, 2 Canada and Y (Northern Europe).

No vehicle is entirely made in the US Alot of vehicles are assembled in the US but the part content is from all over. the easiest way to tell if a car was made in the us is if the first digit of the VIN is the #1. The #2=Canada The #3= Mexico Hope this helps.

You have a good question here and are getting good answers--the facts are out--most people are looking for the highest quality for their money and that's where the research begins. Almost every manufacturer has made a bad car at one time or another. The best choices are in Consumer Reports magazine or other related publications. You're doing the right thing by asking around. So far as the very best of the best deals--I don't think anyone can give the answer you want , just do as much research as you feel comfortable . Sooner or later you will decide for yourself. Take good care of your purchase and it (no matter what brand it bears) will serve you well.

Well a majority of cars there days are made here or assembled here. If you google "cars made in america" I think they should have it. I am under the same unstanding as you are. I wont buy Japanese either, but I will buy European.

Many foreign makes have set up shop here in the US. But if you want a US brand; GM, Ford. Then your going to have to do a little shopping around. When you look at a car sticker at the dealership, they show domestic content in a percentage. Even Ford Trucks aren't 100% American made.

So keep your eyes open and happy shopping.

The auto industry is becoming increasingly global. Its pretty hard to buy a designed-built-assembled in the US by a 'US' company car. But its also pretty hard to find a car that's exclusively non-US, apart from some niche high end cars. Frankly, its hard to even say what a 'US' company is. All the auto companies are publicly traded, Americans can own Honda shares just as easily as Germans can buy Ford shares. Which step matters to you? Ownership of profits? Corporate headquarters? Designers? Manufacturing? The Dealership?

It depends on what you mean.

Many cars made by US companies are made in Mexico or elsewhere.

Many foreign car companies have factories here to make cars.

I guess you'll have to identify specific plants and see what they make, if the idea is to make sure Americans actually built your car.

Good luck.

Believe it or not, Mitsubishi's are made right here in Bloomington Illinois!

There's a giant manufacturing plant, and the US workers are crankin' 'em out!

unfortunately some components are assembled in a foreign country and therefore there are no vehicles exclusively manufactured in the US
