Extremely real and explicit. Probably one of the most accurate recreation of the horror our soldiers lived through upon their arrival in Normandy in WWII.

The first 20 minutes is just as good as the whole movie. Not only is the movie good, but John Williams wrote some good music to go with it.

It was the most realistic portrayal of war that I've ever seen. I sat in the movie theater, with my hand covering my mouth, completely hysterical sobbing. I don't think I've ever been affected that much by a scene in a movie. I was depressed for the rest of the day.
I love gory, horror movies. BUT, this was not fun to watch. I watched it that one time in the theater and I will never watch it again. That is how much it disturbed me.

It was very heart warming. To think that the man had enough respect for the ones that saved his life to live his life as best he could and doing everything possible to make sure he deserved and earned what they'd sacrificed for him.
I wish I could be more detailed, but I haven't seen the movie in a while.

One of the most disturbing images ever captured on celluloid and possibly the most realistic re-creation of war.
One of the best edited sequences ever. And the sound is so perfect.
Tom Hanks is also brilliant in it. Its harder than it seems to act in such a scene when all eyes r on the star actor.
Speilberg rules!!

It's one of the most intense, and realistic movies about war ever made. Especially that opening sequence.

That was some the best photography ever. It really made you feel like you were actually in the battle. To me, it was very realistic and authentic.
