There is a new guy my age who recently moved to town and he doesn't know anybody. I think we have a lot in common and could be good friends but I've found it hard to get to know him. He is really good looking and is always surrounded by a lot of giggly girls which he finds annoying. But I can’t talk to him when they are around. I can tell he is lonely and needs a friends but I don't know how to let him know I can be his friend with out seeming forward like the other girls. What can I do?

You say your mom wants to invite his fmily over for dinner? well that right there is a way to get to know him without all those giggly girls around. Have him come over. Afterwards, go sit outside or someplace and just talk about anything. Ask him his likes and disklikes. tell him about yourself a bit (likes and dislikes are a good start) if he likes something that you like, say "yeah, I like that too!" and then go on about what you like about that. It will probabkly be refreshing to him to be able to have a real conversation and not have to worry about the "giggly girls" following him everywhere. all in all, have fun and be yourself.

You said you think that the two of you may have a lot in common....Well simply invite him to do something with you that you think he would most enjoy. Remember he is a guy...so lean toward what he would most likely have the most fun doing. It may be best to actually invite him to a group activity instead of trying to have alone time to start with. That way he doesn't get the impression that you are trying to date him (even though we know differently). The best way to get close to a guy is to bond with him as a friend without the threat of a relationship (which many guys aren't to comfortable with). Be his buddy, joke around, laugh, do guy things with him and if more is to come out of this, it will. Good Luck!

I suggest you just talk to him. Think about how you made friends in the 1st place on your previous friends. I found some good looking girl in my school and I talk to her about stuff.

Be yourself, but be around so that if he needs a should or an ear, you are there to offer it! Be smarter than the others girls.... do not make your attraction so obvious..... be distant, but, be fun and active! Not a lazy couch potato!
