Abortion is NOT the same as murder. A fetus is a potential person; it is not yet an actual person. The rights of actual people have to take precedence over the interests of entities that are not actual people. The anti-choice folks like to say that God has chosen to give the fetus life, but if that it the case, then God has also chosen to make the woman the gatekeeper of that life. God grants the woman the responsibility to decide whether or not to bring this new life into the world – that is why the fetus is a part of HER body.

She has rights over her own body, for sure. The question is not whether she has or has not, but whether she has the right to use those rights to commit murder, which is what abortion is, no matter how you slice and dice it--the killing of someone besides yourself. Doesn't make any difference where that somebody is located, abortion is still taking the life of another person.
What she would better do with those rights of hers is to make intelligent choices about how she uses her body.
Think of it this way---while a woman has the right to do with her body as she wills, there are certainly some choices that sane and intelligent women do not make. For instance, would you have sex with a man you knew to be HIV positive, or give it a pass? Would you stick your hand in a running disposal? Would you pull the pin on a grenade strapped to your own waist? True, abortion is not usually immediately damaging to most women, but it does do damage, and most women don't consider that factor while deciding to dispose of the unwanted results of their own poor judgment.

Rights? What are rights? Things which you hold which society says are OK by them, thus it is OK to perform these acts? A woman has free will to perform an abortion regardless of rights. She also will have to live with the consequences of her decision, either pro or con. A person's morals should be considered first, and, if it passes the test, examine societal sanctioning of the action second.

A woman has rights over all parts of her body, including an unborn foetus, regardless of the circumstances in which that foetus was conceived.
I wouldn't recommend self-adminstration of an abortion though.
Oh, and there are almost 3 billion women in the world - the fact that one woman (Roe) feels regret doesn't make abortion right or wrong.
Can I pose a slightly different question: does society have the right to force a woman to give birth if she becomes pregnant?

No one can take a woman's rights away from her own body. Whether or not you or I believe abortion is wrong doesn't matter. We can't tell that woman what to do with her body. So many of these religious fanatics don't remember or weren't alive in the times in which more women and children were dying because they resorted to desperate measures and reached out to a bad doctor for a botched abortion. We need to be teaching responsibility, not abstinence and fear of sex. We need to teach young people to make right decisions, but can't make them afraid. We set up the problem by believing we need to preserve their innocence. We need to inform them! They're going to do it anyway, we should make sure they are safe!

In every abortion, there are TWO bodies involved, the body of the mother and the body of the child. No matter what a mother's circumstances, her unborn child is innocent and does not deserve to die. For more information, see:

abortion is a topic many people love to talkabout but people do not understand the actuality of an abortion. people think its just murder and its a bad thing to do. just give the abby up for adoption but sometimes the hard part of getting through the baby process is being pregnant. there is more to just having a baby. there is more then jsut being pregnant there is to much more. Abortions should be left up to the mother and people shouldn't hate people that have abortions but be there for them because it is hard to give up a child no matter how it happened. its something they have to live ith for the rest of thier lives. it doesn't make them less of a person people should realize it and not just judge people so much because you never know what it feels like to be a pregnant teen or a teen mother. so you can not judge them or anyone for having an abortion just try to help them through because it is not an easy process whether you think it is right or not its not up to you. you have realize its not your life or your desicion it is up to the girl.

A woman has a right to do what she wants to her body. The baby she carries is another body. Once she makes the choice which leads her to become pregnant, she should accept the consequences. Of course this excludes Rape & Incest, because there was no chioce, in her part, on that.

Yes, women still have the right to have abortions. The actual performance of the surgery should be done by the proper physician. It is still leagal in the U.S. by the way, whether everyone approves or not.

Dropping bombs on children and pregnant women is murder. Abortion to an unborn fertilized egg is not a murder. You eat chicken eggs (fertilized ones)? Then you are a serial killer?
Of course women has right to her body for abortion. If today your daughter get raped and got pregnant, would you force her to bear a rapist's child?
