Take it from me. I am 24 and own several successful companies that I started from zero. I have 200 people work for me.
I always wanted loads of money and not have to work, until I got those things about two years ago. Since then I am bored do not have any real friends and bored again, i said that already.
I do however have the time to make a difference to other people lifes, so what do I do? I would love to be a scientist or an inventor it would be great. Being high profile and recognised is not a lot of fun, I have several celebrity friends who are unhappier than me.
If you are going to be a scientist make sure you invent something someone wants, otherwise you will be forgotten
Be good to people and help people, they will remember you forever. Any one can do it

A worthwhile job that suits the nature and desires of the person is what is most important. I have always had the career I wanted because of my own drive and ambition and interest in that particular job and I have always found I have then made money (enough) to be happy and support my dependants. I have never made money my master even though I beacme a millionaire in the eighties. Money does not buy happiness, job satisfaction does and then money comes with being successful at the job.

For me, it would depend what job it is. For example, if I was building a hospital in Romania for orphaned children, then of course money would not even cross my mind. So I'd say it depends on what the job is. I think if you can make a difference in the world, to make it a better place and leave some kind of mark as a memory that you existed, then what would be the use of money? Being rich is not just having a full bank account, it is being full in spirit and compassion.

For the short term i prefer money, but for a long term, i prefer legacy, did i reply your question?
At the moment, i cannot see any bright in my future, so i prefer money, but when i get old or near to die, my mind might change and would like to take the legacy.

I've never felt money was particularly important, I'ld rather enjoy my job than earn loads, or be remembered when I die. I've done some interesting and fun jobs, but I've never earnt loads.

It is more important to me that my family know what was done for them so I would have to say that keeping them financially stable is more important. My family will hole my legacy and I don't care much about the rest of the world or business remembering who I was.

I'd rather have the money. Being remembered won't pay the bills.
