I am one of the people who LOVE Japan. I love Japan because Japanese are disciplined people. Whether they work in an office or drive a taxi cab, they are very professional and they take pride in what they do. I love the culture, food, technology, architecture, and their concern for the environment. I've lived in places overseas and in the states where people do not feel safe. In Japan, guns are illegal and people (most) are honest. I left a digital camera in one of Tokyo Disleyland's restroom; I went back an hour later and it was still there...moved over to the side so it wont get wet. This country is the perfect place to work and earn a living. It can be both conservative and liberal at the same time, and it's a place where they look into the future (technology wise), yet they manage to protect their past by conserving hundred-year old temples and clinging on to tradition. The things I miss about Japan are: fresh sushi, 100 yen stores, themed restaurants, tiny cars, those really cool cellphones that Americans wont see in the next 2 years, fresh food, food samples at Daiei, karaoke rooms, clubbing til 6 AM, vending machines in every corner selling anything from rice to batteries to propane gas tanks, festivals, and walking to a 7-11 at 2 AM without fear of getting mugged.

Japanese are known for being very meticulous and diligent, that can be seen from the products that they market to the world, like Sony, Tamiya, etc. So one can expect the service there in Japan to be really good.
Also, with manga helping to advertise Japan, it is not a wonder that many people would want to try visiting Japan.
The food also looks very enticing! Almost all the shows on Japan have some host eating and chewing and chewing and chewing on some seafood!

No. Japan is not every one 's favorite country. There might people who like Japan , but also there are people who hates japan a lot. There is no such a thing called " The most favorite country " Every culture is different and you can't compare them .

I love Japan, but I don't think it is my favorite country. If I could travel right now, Australia would be top on my list. But I do think Japan is a wonderful country too and I hope I can see it someday.

I would say the women and the beaches - well on Okinawa. And I would also agree with Black Dog. im from Louisiana and have been going back and forth to Okinawa for the past....11 years, and seems like every time I go to visit , it has gotten more Americanized, bad and good.

Japan is getting Americanized recently. I'm concerned about losing our culture. We tend to overestimate America. I don't mean American culture is not good. Both are good. Diversity is important.

I don't think it is. Does not make it on my Top 10. Unfortunately, for many reasons. Although it is a fascinating country.
