Idiots who seek to surrender their freedoms, liberties and futures to an all-powerful state, so they don't have to think for themselves or take care of themselves.
They seek to become like the irresponsible, naive and useless Eloi in HG Wells' "The Time Machine".
They are not progressive. Their socialist models are nothing but are reprisal of feudalism, but with the leftist nomenklatura as the lords.

It is an abbreviation for "liberals", usually used in an insulting manner.
Most people who use the abbreviation also cannot seem to distinguish between those who follow a liberal philosophy, and those who are members of the Democratic party.
In addition, many of the people who use that label do so with no regard at all for the actual definition of the word 'liberal', nor for whether the person or idea being insulted actually is a liberal. In other words, most of the time the label is actually meaningless.
