My 2-year old has colored on the walls, kitchen table, mini-blindes, windows, hardwood floor and white painted chairs in permanent marker. Mr Clean will take me a month. Are there any other ways to get it out? Please help! My in-laws are comming to visit in a week!

I already tried magic eraser and although I could paint the walls, that doesn't help with the hardwood or table.

And in response to locking up the markers, They were on a VERY high shelf, I found out today my son can climb (he's almost 3) while I went upstairs to change my baby girl. It took him a whole 15 minutes to redecorate the house!

Try alcohol with cometbleach. Or you can try Mr. Clean erasable sponge. It worked for me. I had that same problem last week. Good luck.

Try hairspray. Get the kind in the aerosol can. It almost always takes off permanent marker. Get some paint so you can touch up those painted chairs once you get the marker off of them. Anything you use on a painted surface to get the marker off will also probably mar the paint. By the time your son is 3 he should be old enough to know not to color on anything. I guess in the mean time you will have to make him accompany you when you have to go to another part of the house. When he protests, tell him that it's because he colored on everything so now you have to watch him all the time, that'll start putting the idea in his head that it's no okay to do that. Good Luck.

I don't know where to begin. I know these things happen behind our backs when we're working, but it must be cleaned up as soon as it happens or it will pile up. I get annoyed with my hubby when he's the one at home and I'm away and he leaves it for me or doesn't tell me and then it happens again and I go through the house finding it all to clean....

What has worked so far is Magic Eraser, bleach sticks, and/or orange cleanser like what you'd use on windows or counters. Do not rub too hard.

Do not let him do this again! Keep the permanent markers under lock and key on a high shelf if you can't keep the kids under control at all times.

The Mr Clean erasers work quite well, It will take some elbow grease. You may need to do a few paint touch ups on walls.

your mini blinds are trashed I am afraid. Try baking soda/water paste and LOTS of it. Works for me. Cheap cleaner, have to do alot of rinsing but sure beats having to repaint the whole damn house. And on another note, I know he is only a small child but get him a rag and make him help, guaranteed he won't do it again if he has to help. All I can say is............OMFG!!!!! you need some major help and would be glad to come help you but afeering am too far away. Good luck, and a good old fashioned spanking wouldn't hurt either.

There are some good cleaners out there a few suggestions would be a protein spotter ('bridgepoint' works very well) You might have to go to a cleaning supply store to get it. It's a water based solvent and alkaline spotter. For your wood, made sure you re-oil and polish well, after using anything harsh..)

You may have to strip the paint off the chairs and repaint those. For the table, mini-blinds, windows you can use "Oops" stain remover.
