Birth control is the first thing you should think of before you have sex; bringing unwanted children in this world is cruel.
The best kind would have to be abstinence but since that is not an option, i think birth control pills are the best. Gaining weight is not as common a side-effect as people seem to think. Just make sure you keep eating healthy and exercising, they can make you have cravings at times...just make sure you don't indulge.
Your gynaecologist will prescribe the best pill for you. Just make sure you take it regularly and during the first month or so use condoms as well since it is still not safe.
If you find that you are absolutely unreliable when it comes to taking the pill, there are intradermal implants and injections which can offer contraception for up to 3 months. However i am sure that your gynaecologist will discuss all your options with u.
A gynae visit is also wise if you have been having unprotected sex. Even if you're not pregnant, you could have caught a large variety of sexually-transmitted diseases from warts, chlamydia, trichomoniasis, HPV infection, up to AIDs. please be careful

Different bc are different for each person. Personally, I like the Ortho Evra patch. I would ask your doc. what he/she thinks and tell them your concerns with gaining weight. Also, some bc are meant for people of a certain weight and size. Ask your doctor about this as well. If they tell you that's not true, find another doctor. It is true and it will be on the instuctions for use in the bc pamphlet that comes with the bc.

Not having sex is the best and safest birth control!!!!
Really if u want birth control that's up to the doctor to decide... they have to figure out which one is best for u. I use desogen but, lots of friends use a different kind. Also they have a shot u can do to. Just talk to your gynecologist and see what he/she recommends. That is if your not pregnant.

In this day and time the best birth control method is abstinence, but if you feel in order to feel accepted you must have sex or if you feel that you cant live without sex maybe you need to talk with somebody and discover why.
because if you get pregnant and it is not planned wouldn't that be unfair to your child?
Plus with all the STD's that are out, are you willing to risk it?
