Well.. just as i expected, i learned today that i'll be repeating this year(first year of high school) in school.
Probably, everyone in this situation would think what kind of failure are themselves. I, however, am not feeling sad at all. Why should i be?Why expect a better result when i wasn't a good student? No one can run away from reality.Instead, i am sort of hopeful because i think of this as an oppurtunity to correct my mistakes and fortunately graduate with a better score. Of course it has some disadventages, i'll be with 15 year olders for the rest of my school life, i'll lose a somewhat fine oppurtunity in the college test at the end of high school-which is a long story and is not necessary to be explained here-, but i guess it's in my hand to see these(and etc.) as adventages.
Do you think this is really losing 1 year in life?
No one can be sure what the future holds..Since everyone is different, maybe this is what will make me a better person.
Just say something useful.

sounds like to me that you aren't losing a thing.... you've already gained so much by accepting the blame, being willing to learn from your past and having an awesome attitutude.
good luck! :)

When I failed a class in high school I got over it quickly, as it was Geo Trig and my parents and I knew my future was not in GeoTrig. I repeated Chemistry (even though I didn't actually fail it) and was glad to get a much better mark the second time around.
Having to repeat a whole year is different, but kudos to you for accepting responsibility instead of all these kids who do little work and still expect an A. Hopefully you will work harder this year - wasting another year would be foolish - but high school seems much more important at the time than it does later on.

You have the perfect attitude. It seems as though you have learned a valuable lesson. The most important one you can learn how to be responsible for yourself. Admitting you were the one who let yourself down and finding the positive out of the negative is one of the very hardest thing you will do in your life. You are not losing 1 year of your life you have gained more than 1 year in maturity. Put those lessons to good use and make the grades you are capable of making and good things will surely follow. Remember there are scholarships available for academic excellence and they do look favorably on the ones that had to work a little harder to achieve excellence.

Now you have an opportunity to grow as a person.
The pressure will be off because you are allowing yourself to catch up emotionally and the extended
year in high school will pay off in the long run.
I held my daughter back in 4th grade in order to
catch up emotionally. It has paid off. She is more confident and her grades have improved. Don't look at it as losing 1 year but rather gaining 1 more
year of education. You'll be glad you did this
later on in life. I promise.

First, you're plenty smarter than you imagine you're. you've already got known that you're behaving in predictable strategies which have not further sturdy outcomes. What you want to do next is discover out why you proceed doing unfavorable issues, and that is going to take an expert. you received't discover one on line. you want to verify with a actual human being. the first step is to bypass to the counselor at school and get as a lot counsel as you may as to what's causing you to act as you do, in spite of your understanding that it will no longer workout consultation properly. If the faculty counselor can't sparkling up the concern, you may want to wish to artwork a touch harder to get on the muse of the area. don't be afraid about prices, and don't be disturbed about your moms and dads. With the counselor helping you, it will be attainable to get to the bottom of the mess, get it straightened out, and placed all of it behind you. it truly is going to take your time, yet you're 1/2 way there already.

I think it's good that you have this attitude. Most people who have to repeat a grade do worse the second time around because they are upset about it and ashamed that they've done so badly. You sound intelligent, even if you aren't a good student and I think that if you apply yourself you'll get through this year just fine.

Absolutely, there is nothing wrong with repeating a year. I think you will do very well this year. What you do in school doesn't alway affect what kind of employee you will be in the workforce. You will find the things that you love to do and want to excel at.

Well, maybe not an entire year of your life was wasted. But I will tell you that you need to take your studies more seriously this year and the next three in high school.

I graduated thee-years late in my life. Figured it's better to have a high school diploma than not.
I use to complain that I graduated late. My sister says some people never graduated at all.

You seem to have a pretty mature attitude about this 'blip' on your radar screen. I would be willing to bet that 10 years from now you will be able to see how this was a really good thing in your life.........IF you make the best of this opportunity to improve yourself. Good luck.

You're going to live to be 74, or 81, or 105, or whatever whether you have to repeat the 9th grade or not.
Hopefully you're a year WISER than you were when you started.
