I was voted Teacher's Pet in High School! I know what it's like to be the "goody two shoes."
Do what's best for you. You should be proud of wanting to learn! I have also done teaching work and believe me teachers are very gratified when a student actually cares and the teacher is not just babysitting. But what's most important is YOU. Education and good grades are very important. You probably ARE the oddball now. And it's hard. But if learning makes you happy then don't sacrifice it just to fit in.
You will also be the one with the better job and easier life in the future!
You don't sound snobby about it, so it's their problem if they don't like you or your interest in the subjects. Maybe they're jealous.
Hang in there! What can I say? Good luck.

Keep doing what you're doing if it's the right thing for you. I used to be the same way and got picked on for it all the time. Now it seems most of those people are working in fast food joints and living in public housing while I have a great job and a nice house. It's not really up to you to tell anyone what they should do. Just take care of you. They're at the age where they shouldn't have to be told to behave and get their work done.

From my experience in school, the people who were put in "low" classes usually were made up of a few groups: those who didn't care at all (whether they were intelligent or not), those who have learning disabilities or never had a lot of support with school work but would like to do better, and those who are misunderstood (like foreign children).
Sounds like you have an interest in doing better and are stuck in a class full of people who think they're too cool for school.
Don't worry about them -- best thing you can do is keep doing what you're doing so that you can progress through school. Don't let their behavior or opinions hold you back from succeeding!

yeah u might be different....but that's ok! it's a good thing that u agree with the teacher and u know the rules r there for a reason....and it's good that u don't complain all the time like they do......it sounds to me that maybe ur more mature than the others in ur class and that ur head is on straight........and i don't think u follow the rules to much, at least from what i've heard. good for u for being easy to get along with!!!

It just means you are a better person than they are.. they know they are being stupid, they think that causing trouble is the right thing, the cool thing to do... little do they know, you get much more rewards in life by being polite, listening, voicing your opinion, adding your ideas, but also learning to work with others andbeing a part of society and understanding there are reules and boundaried for everyone... those that do not live within those boundaries are the ones who hate life because everyone is picking on them, everyone is against them and life just is not fair! you will hear them whine about it all later inlife as well.
be yourself and do what you think is right and to heck with what the other kids think! you want more out of life then they do! More power to you!

They trust you and your opinion, that's why they're using you as a sounding board. People love to compain. Just worry about you. Think of everybody in 25 years. You'll be successful, and they'd wished they'd payed attention in class. don't worry what they think of you. If you feel like you have to explain, tell them that you're thinking furthur in the future. Not what am i gonna wear tommorrow, but what am I going to do for the next 40 years before I can retire.
You can listen to them, but just be like , yeah...I hear you. Its good to follow rules sometimes. hey, maybe you'll start a trend... listen to your teachers, pay attention in school! you'll be glad you did.

It all depends. You might be a bit of a conformist, but I don' t think so. If you really believe that your teacher is right, it would be best to get in the face of those other students, tell them to grow up, ect. It's important to stand for what you believe is right....and that might be against the students, or if a teacher is wrong it could be against him or her.

I think it sawesome you dont follow the pack, in 3 years will they still be your friend? are they worth doing bad things for? do good in school, imagine how fast your life has gone now, you have 2 more years get good grades so your not poor when you are on your own. go to college. Being different will get you further in life, those kids most likely will not go to college and will end up with 5 kids on welfare. good luck

I think even the ones complaining know what they are saying is wrong and what they are doing is wrong, but they want to be cool. It's sucks now, but High School (Thank God) doesn't last forever!
