i.e a top, or shoes or a bikini in that pattern

Anyone in the know will tell you that it depends on how its done. For example, the odd leopard print accessory can look very chic when worn with a simple outfit.

However, head to toe in leopard print or a leopard mini-skirt is undoubtedly Kat Slater and vile.

It is a very fine line

It depends. Leopard print is in right now, but only a few people can pull off wearing it. A bikini would just be too much unless you were in a James Bond flick. A top could be okay, but only when you're snorting coke on someones yacht. Shoes are your best choice by far. I would say 85% of the time tacky and 15% of the time sexy.

Everything is sexy in moderation. A leopard top is fine with a solid bottom. I would stay away from a patterned bottom, too much material, less is more! Bikinis are usually ok, they are really no material at all. Shoes are tricky, they are ok with a solid dress, you could use a scarf or belt in the same print as the shoes but not both.

I don't like animal print at all. and particular leopard as its tacky and also does not suit me. Sometimes its depend how good is the fabric and that can make a lots of different. But still tacky

It really depends on how it's done. Leopard print shoes or a bag, with everything else solid, can look good. It could be done as a camisole under something, but alone as a top would probably be too much. I am definitely not a fan of the leopard print bikini.

I wouldnt go mad on this pattern instead just buy some small accessories to compliment your outfit.

Heres an example to play the 'trend' safely and not over doing it:

Buy a gold or ochre colour top, and a basic jeans, add a leopard belt and perhaps a leopard bag. Add a pretty gold stellitos or a leopard print sandal.

Kinda tacky, although I heard it was making a fashion come back in interior design. I would avoid it on clothes. A bikini is small to begin with, so that might not be as "in your face" as a dress would be. Purses and shoes are accessories, so in moderation, I think they are timeless.
