Love is indeed essential for survival. The first study done was by hospitals in Bosnia with new born baby's who were orphans. One group of babies were picked up and loved and sang songs to and talk top and the other group was given only food and cleaned and no attention at all. The first group of babies did fine but the second group of babies all died before they were a year old. Yes we need love

Love is essential for the survival of some people. There are people who will go live on a mountain top and shun both the physical and emotion elements of love, but most people need to balance their lives in a manner that allows them to live their lives in social harmony with society. It is very difficult to resist the social pressures of sexual arousal, when it is present in mass media, entertainment and provocative dress in public.

No, but survival is essential for love. Survival of the self when two egos are conjoined.

Well it all depends what you say love is, if you think of it as a sexual thing then I think most men need it to survive in some state of sanity, if you think of it as an emotional attachment I would say your chances of survival are better without it, because that kind of emotional need often destroys the person feeling it, rather than adding to their chances of survival.

It would be for a male who went from his mothers loving care, to taking a wifey for her loving care and to continue to provide all the cleaning, cooking and other manual labor chores they grew up with and aren't man enough to do on their own.

I think a lot of males use the pretense of love to sate their insecurity, in needing someone there for them, holding their hand and keeping the boogie man away and to cook, clean, wash clothes, you know all the momma things they could never quiet learn how to do or wanted to learn to do on their own.

There are some real wimps running around proclaiming to have it all together, but if the truth be known, momma or wifey does all their thinking and everything else for them.

For these type of males, I choose not to use the word men because there is not one of them who would make a wart on a real man's A - -.

In defense of women, I don't see how they can put up with having to raise kids, and raise a wimp trying to pass themselves off as a husband. But I guess it's better than being alone.

No, but the concept of love is.

People sometimes say that ecause we need to procreate,
I don't believe that.

You don't need to be in love to have sex, just like you don't need to be in love to live.

Love is a temporary madness. It erupts like an earthquake and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have become so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of promises of eternal passion. That is merly the concept of being "in love" which any of us can convince ourselves we are, even convice ourselves we NEEd it, but in all actuality, we, need ourselves.

I don't know, I guess I'm just not the, sappy, there the morning after-type of girl. lol

It is not essential for animals and also our ancestors in primeval ages survived with anger and enmity. But now , it is not only essential but most essential. Otherwise, we have no alternatives but to keep ourselves at the level of animals. As such, please, be ready to live at the cost of love or be ready to die without love.
