Unfortunately when they invade a field they know exactly what their legal rights are and that's how they get away with it. They know that they cannot simply be evicted and with legal representation they can appeal, appeal again and then seek judicial review. The problems have got worse, in the last few years, with the arrival of thousands of Irish travellers. They started to arrive in droves after the Irish government clamped down on them making it an offence to set up a site. The penalty for committing such an offence was that their vehicles and caravans could be seized and crushed and several were. To be fair to the Irish government they did warn the British government what they were doing and suggested we followed suit. We didn't listen and until we do we're going to have the problem.

they don't get treated like royalty, yes they should be back home in ireland where they belong. but a lot of travellers bought land of essex council and now they are being shifted because the council told them you might own the land but we never gave you permission to pitch your vans. whos the theives there?

No idea. It seems in this country the less you own the more rights you have, i.e. squatters can move into someone elses property and then have the right to stay there until legal action takes its course which can be months.

because over here if your 1 of the hard working people you have to fight and work hard for the things you want but if your something else from another background and don't want to work then you get it all done for ya
